The Role
Nice to do a job where you are actually using your skills and working with people with similar goals as yourself.
I was incorporated into the team and people were very thankful for any help I could give. Everyone also made a lot of effort to make sure I understood the work I was doing.
Lots of help, sat right next to my line manager who was more than happy to stop and help whenever I asked
Sometimes I had to fill time myself, especially when others were busy. But I had lots of things I could be getting on with such as Charity Challenge work, so I was never out of things to do. I never had so much work that I felt too stressed or unable to keep on top of things.
People were always on hand to check my work before it was submitted, but this was good as it meant I could do the work with confidence that I wasn't about to cause a major issue. The work I did was sent on to senior management members though, so it was important that I worked accurately and quickly.
I feel like the things I've been doing will help me with my final year of University, and will definately help me when I get a job, either with LBG or another company. I've already found it easier to get through job applications because I have real, practical experience which I can draw on.
The Company
Everyone gets on with their work and is respectful that other collegues may be under strict dealines. However, a lot of effort is made to get to know the people you are sat with by going to lunch together and chatting when appropriate.
In terms of the actual placement there were no problems at all, however there was an issue with the Charity Challenge in that the prize had to be given before everyone was able to submit which was pretty unfair.
Well the fact alone that they pay you so well already shows the company is investing in you. They got me involved in as much as possible, so I would say they were great from an investment point of view.

Haven't completed yet so still waiting to find out if I've been refferred onto the Graduate Leadership Programme, but it looks like a great programme and hopefully every effort has been made to make sure we get on to it if we want to.
The Culture
Unfortunately there were no other interns in my office so I didnt see a social scene at all amoung interns where I was, but from what I've seen of the others it looks like they've made efforts and got involved if they wanted to.
I was living at home so no real costs from that perspective.
I didn't really go out near my office, but its the center of Birmingham; it's a good nightlife!
I didn't really see any, but again I think this might have more to do with there not being other interns in my office than the office itself.
