The Role
The Work is very interesting but slow at times, but that comes with working for a large company
I was given a lot of responsibility but not much direction was given at times
Manager was very supportive of extra training I wanted to do, and my supervisor was helpful with any questions I had regarding my work.
Not very, I had 3 projects to work on but the work for them didn't take that long so it was a case of working slowly to keep myself busy for the day.
I was in charge of organising and doing my own project for the summer as well as working on a supervisor and a colleagues project.
I have learnt project management and timing skills as well as receiving extra training in MATLAB and Simulink. These will help in future modules like process dynamics and control and in my dissertation.
The Company
Every one is very friendly and interesting to talk to. There is a good balance of working and social atmosphere.
Very well organised, I had a project set up for me at the start and was briefed on this regularly to observe my progress.
I attended two training courses whilst on placement and visited other department out of interest for the graduate scheme.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
It is a good place to work and pays well so is very tempting.
The Culture
We all lived in Liberty Park in Coventry there was about 50 of us with regular nights out and social activities like Laser Quest and trips to London etc.
Coventry was a very cheap night out! And there is a good shopping centre/cinema/gym etc. Liberty Park is £80 a week which is more expensive than usual university accommodation but was much cheaper than living in Leamington Spa.
Coventry has a few good places to go out. Leamington has really nice bars and restaurants.
If you organised them yourself yes there was plenty to do!
