The Role
It was a really opportunity to understand the industry and the RBS culture. I had the chance to meet a lot of people, and I think that thanks to this experience I can say what I would like to do as a job.
I really felt valued and I really got responsibilities since day one. Sometimes, my slides / project were presented to clients, which is something that made me feel really valued
Both my 2 line managers supported me and were ready to give me explanations for every answer I had
Since I joined the corporate advisory team I was very busy and had to do very long working hours
I have been given a lot of responsibilities since day one, and I had the chance to work on presentations that were presented to external clients.
I think that this experience will turn to be very useful for my next year of studies. In fact, I will do courses related to what I did this summer, so I believe that thanks to this experience I will understand in a better way what I will study.
The Company
Actually I had two different experiences: the office of my first rotation was made by senior people and very few young analysts, while the second rotation was the opposite. So, during my second rotation the atmosphere was much more funny.
Well organised. During the internship we had the opportunity to attend several networking which gave us the chance to meet people and understand if this is the right industry for us. All these events were well organised in terms of timing and contents
I think that the first week of training was useful and well organised. Since we are summer interns I think that it's more important to organise networking events than training events. So I am happy with the training I received.
Company Parties/Events
They are quite appealing considering the people I met and what I did.
The Culture
I really enjoyed my time also because I met a lot of guys interning also in other banks.
London is very expensive
Liverpool Street area offers a lot of places and opportunities for young guys.
Not during the week, but over the weekends yes.
