The Role
Very enjoyable.
Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.
Was given plenty of support and a lot of time allowed for training.
Enough work not to ever be waiting around, not so much that it was overwhelming. But the team I was on was almost all interns so waiting for manager sign-off or feedback sometimes took a while.
Wrote and released code to real clients, also kept under lots of supervision and guidance.
I think learning to program is very useful!
The Company
A good atmosphere, maybe a bit quiet.
Well organised in general, but training materials could have been better provided and structured (most of my training was done from internet searches).
Lots of time given to me to study the skills needed.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Job offer after graduation.
The Culture
Usually pub trips. There were only a couple of other interns so did not do a whole lot of socialising (other people often busy or had to catch trains).
Cost of living: very good except for the transport costs Socialising: going out in London is very expensive, better to socialise at home.
I don't think the area I worked would be good for nightlife but presumably the nightlife nearer central London would be better. But I never tried it.
