The Role
Great first rotation with a lot of autonomy given to me and continuous workflows. Felt that second rotation consisted of some background tasks which were menial. Have thoroughly enjoyed the out of work events that have been organised for us by HR - a lot of thought and very consistent.
Plenty of opportunities to take initiative and prove myself. Once you prove yourself the opportunities that come your way then allow you to really add value to the team. Felt more valued on some particular tasks, but then on other tasks felt that value-add was minimal.
Both supervisors have been very on top of things, always looking to enhance my experience. Were more than happy to take out time to speak to me and give me guidance on anything that I needed it on.
At times some tasks were over-estimated in terms of how long it would take me to complete them. Therefore sometimes was sitting around while waiting for the next task.
Mixed opinion between rotations. Some tasks required high levels of diligence and care due to the levels of autonomy given to me. But at times some tasks felt like they were there to simply fill time.
Any previous experience in the work place will help substantially in the future. The attitude required in a work place helps to consider and view tasks from an alternative perspective which I feel will be helpful when approaching course-related tasks at university.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere and very approachable people.
Very well organised and a lot better from what I have heard about other summer internships. - Lunch and learn sessions to gain an insight into other areas of the business were extremely helpful - Fun socials
Quite a lot - substantial training in the first week. Weekly opportunities to learn about other business areas. Regular skills development sessions.
