The Role
On one of my rotations in Transaction Services Products, I did not really enjoy the work I was doing as it was not aligned to my interests and at most, it was middle-/back-office rather than front-office. Having said that, my team were very nice and we got on well. My other rotation, in UK Corporate Coverage, was much more to my liking. Whilst I got on very well with my team, I enjoyed the work which they set me, which pushed me to my limit and allowed me to learn different things. Outside of work, the events organised for the interns were enjoyable, helped by the fact there was food and drink at hand(!). There could be improvement on the interaction between all interns across all divisions outside of work, however.
That I was often joking around with my colleagues was a sign that I was ingrained with my team.
Cannot complain about this aspect. I was encouraged to talk to my seniors and supervisors if there was anything I didn't understand, and they were always happy to make time for me.
On my Transaction Services Product rotation, the workload was not time-consuming and more often than not, I found I didn't have that much to do. With UK Corporate Coverage, work was plentiful, but manageable at the same time.
All of my work was internal so the responsibility was limited in that regard. My work however, was useful from my supervisor's point of view, so it meant I was responsible for pieces of work which would be used for future reference.
My course barely incorporates the skills I developed, and the training I received.
The Company
Great atmosphere, my team were very friendly!
There was a lot of problems with regards to IT - username/domain not set-up, had to hot-desk a lot etc. So some time was spent just using a functional PC. For the Transaction Services Product, I felt the work I did wasn't entirely related to the job function but more something which has to be done, but no-one wants to do it (i.e. the intern does it)
There was a training week which lasted for one week and an Excel boot camp which lasted 4 hours. So whilst it wasn't in-depth, it didn't really have to be unless you were working in Corporate Advisory.

Company Parties/Events
As someone who wants to work in M&A, RBS doesn't provide the best platform, but an informative experience nonetheless.
The Culture
More interaction across divisions outside of work would've been welcome.
Welcome to the City.
Again, welcome to the City.
There were some, but definitely scope for more.
