The Role
Worked between 2 teams, was a very different atmosphere across both, but generally was made to feel included.
Once again this depended on the team and the related manager, but both were very helpful and supportive.
Some days had virtually nothing to do, other days felt swamped, but generally the work was more longer term focused, so I worked through it as I saw appropriate.
The work was mainly just what was left over from the graduates, very little was given to me to work through from start to end. Was taken to many client meetings though and was often the only intern present.
I would say that over the internship I have learnt to become much more proactive with asking questions and challenging the reasoning behind a lot of things, and have become more confident to approach people.
The Company
One desk had a slightly younger team than the other and so there was much more banter and entertainment here, however both were enjoyable.
The programme is well structured with many networking and additional learning events scheduled throughout, however there were some small things such as clashing events which would have been sorted beforehand.
Managers were always willing to help answer any questions I had, and there was also a fair amount of follow up from my first team on how I was doing at my second desk etc
Company Parties/Events
It would be great to be offered a full time role with this organisation however it is clear that there is strong competition and possible downsizing of certain teams.
The Culture
At the beginning there was more of an effort to bring the intern group together as a whole but towards the end each little group tended to stick amongst themselves.
London is very expensive...
Near to Shoreditch and some other good areas so there was a variety of choice.
Quite a few times we were invited by the grads to take part in some friendly sports games after work
