The Role
Very good placement overall, nice people and lots of work given to me.
My managers and other members of the team really valued me, and I got given some high profile tasks as well as ad-hoc ones.
The support and guidance was good to start off with, but then I was really working alone and developing my own contacts. But my managers helped me in the starting a lot.
In the beginning, first 1-4 weeks wasn't so busy. towards the end 7-10weeks, got very busy and had to pull late nights.
A lot of responsibility was given to me from day 1.
I study Physics so banking didn't really give me skills that would help me in my degree. Hoever I did develop presentation skills which helps me.
The Company
Not exactly serious, but pretty funny. I had some good funny guys in my team!
It wasn't set u too well, as our desks weren't expecting us on the day we went to the office! However later on there were some very good events like dinner at the Gherkin and Go Karting.
The training was very good. HSBC used 7city to train the global banking interns.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Good.
The Culture
Very good social scene!
Not so good!
Canary Wharf isn't the best for nightlife in my opinion
Yes we had the J P Morgan run.
