The Role
I have much enjoyed my internship. There is a great atmosphere and everyone is always happy to help. Other interns are friendly which makes social events very enjoyable,
Colleagues give you work that actually matters and adds value to the desk, so when completed to a high quality you are very valued.
All employees are happy to help, regardless of how high up they are in the firm.
This is very desk dependent. Some desks are too busy for interns and unable to give them work, especially when other team members are on holiday. However this can work in your favour if you are given a higher workload.
I was given very important tasks daily, having to send out morning and end of day comments that many people depended on. Therefore I feel like I was given a lot of responsibility.
I feel the communication skills and exposure to the working environment will be useful skills for the rest of my life. Obviously desk skills that I learnt will not be used in daily activities or in my degree.
The Company
Play hard... work harder. There were moments of 'fun' in the day, but obviously there were very busy parts of the day too. Was a great atmosphere, never too serious or too dull.
All events were very well organised and we were told weeks in advance about events. On the desk activities were not as organised, but as an intern I feel like its a test to ensure you are always being productive.
I very much feel every employee is very happy to spend time with interns, teaching them about different aspects of the business. It makes you feel very wanted by the firm as a whole.
Company Parties/Events
I would like to think I have a job with them, but haven't found yet.
The Culture
At the beginning, events were organised for us but as the internship continued we began organising our own events...was great!
Living and socialising in central London is very expensive.
Central London is amazing
We were always given the opportunities to take part in company sports and activities...this was fun and great opportunity to network with other divisions.
