    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Depends which desk you get to sit with.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Again, depends on your desk but people are generally very nice and treat you as a colleague.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was always someone to speak to if I needed any help/advice.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Workload on the desk was manageable (on average), but there were lots of events (networking and other) that were compulsory to attend and it was sometimes difficult to balance desk work with extra tasks which simply took too much time.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • All the tasks I've been given were relevant to the business area I worked for (no admin work) and I usually worked on similar tasks as the full time employees.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Technical knowledge I gained will help me immensely with my studies next year and I also improved my soft skills.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very relaxed, comfortable working environment.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The organisation had a few flaws - desk allocation schedule and event organisation was done on the very last minute, however, given the size of our intern class, the organisation was respectable.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had a training session in the beginning and we were always welcome to go and chat to employees in other parts of the bank to learn about the firm/network.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I think RBS is a great company to work for.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had lots of social events for interns so we had lots of opportunities to get to know each other.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London. On the other hand, RBS organised lots of networking events and drinks were provided.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Lots of social events, but company sports/committees are for full-time employees.

    5/5
