The Role
I found the internship very competitive because all the interns were very all very good candidates. The graduates are very nice and the HR are extremely helpful. There were a lot of social events organised during the internship to keep it well rounded. My assignened buddy gave me so much help and advice.
My colleagues always spoke to me and were very friendly and answered any questions that I had.
My line-managers were both very down-to-Earth and always listened to me and encourage me to explore different areas of the bank.
I had to remain pro-active, the internship is what you make of it so I always made sure I was learning.
I was given projects on my desk and my line-managers continuously asked me how it was going.
I learn so much, I would have never been able to learn this much had I not done this internship.
The Company
The Markets facing desks were what I expected from a Trading desk-very dynamic and the non-Markets facing were very concerntrated.
Very well organised and all emails answered promptly.
I feel like I have learnt so much and been given lots of resources to learn.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
There is constant change in the banking industry, so I expect new jobs are always popping up.
The Culture
The HR created many events for us to socialise like Sports Day.
Min spend for lunch is £5, I found it the area a bit pricey but that is to be expected from London.
There are a lot of bars and restaurants in the area.
Yes, there are Sports Clubs and a Grad Council.
