The Role
Overall I was kept busy and there were numerous events and opportunities to make yourself busy too.
The project which I participated in required cross business communication and everyone took the time out to explain things.
There was always the opportunity to ask questions and the open plan office really helped with access to all senior managers.
It depended day to day. There were days where I had to work until late and days when I didn't. Overall if you asked for more work, more work would be found.
The projects I was working on all had high level support and follow through so the projects themselves involved a high degree of responsibility.
I really improved my knowledge of the industry, products and areas in operations as well as my Excel skills.
The Company
Everyone was very approachable and friendly and willing to explain anything which you needed help with.
There were numerous events on the internship and the office is generally quite friendly too.
There were weekly operations sessions which were really helpful and informative as well as this there were elements of Excel training and general financial markets training.
Company Parties/Events
There are excellent opportunities from within the firm. The internal jobs board also helps you if you want to change departments and there was access to shadow different members of other departments.
The Culture
All the interns were really friendly and easy to get along with.
London is very expensive but there are ways to socialise cheaply.
It's London, so expensive but endless.
We participated in a volunteering day on the placement which was really fulfilling and something different.
