The Role
Good insight into my specific area of the company.
Given a huge amount of responsibility and given tasks with real value.
Reall ypatient and helpful. Explained things when not understood and took the time to teach me. Involved in all possible team meetings so as to fully understand task and project.
Initially slow to pick up, but once the ball was rolling there was plenty of work. Sometimes a little outside of my subject area, but still of interest.
Given tasks that impacted and will continue to impact the team once I have left.
Learnt useful people skills as well as some very important microsoft based skills. Wasn't particularly relevant to my degree however was still interesting as I learnt about a whole new discipline I didn't even know existed!
The Company
Especially as this was a technology based role, people like to "plug in" and get on with it. Luckily I wasn't too heavily involved with the tech side of stuff (despite that being the title of my placement) so I was able to meet more dynamic and chatty people along the way, and was sat on a desk surrounded by people from various disciplines.
Very well organised internship - they have really nearly thought of everything. Could be slightly better planned and informed for the line managers, as the majority seemed more or less unaware of our arrivals
My personal confidence has definitely increased, something which cannot be priced!
Company Parties/Events
I would love to continue working here
The Culture
Yeah, if you have the time there are definitely the opportunities to meet and go out with other interns. A very sociable bunch! As well as three intern drinks, held by the company, at the start middle and end of the internship.
Living and socialising in london is very expensive. However the pay check does reflect this.
London's nightlife, provided you know where to look, do your research, and don't jusat follow the crowd, is great.
One volunteering opportunity.
