The Role
I enjoyed most of the work, and there was a very welcoming atmosphere about the whole place.
I felt like the work I was doing may not have contributed a huge amount to the company, but that everyone was glad to see me improve for the future anyway.
My manager struck a great balance between guidance and letting me find my own way.
There were the odd days where I wasn't sure what to do next, but there was never a lack of work, nor such brutal deadlines that I was over-faced.
It's not really a job for responsibility as such, but I was never kept away from things due to inexperience.
Massively. I learnt to code in python predominantly, but could now write small chunks of code in C, HTML and JavaScript. I also was given the chance to make a presentation on parts of the work I did over the summer, which has been another usefully developed skill.
The Company
There was a good mix of interns and regular workers in the office, and occasional nerf gun fights would break out between everyone.
My manager had a complete plan for my internship before I even turned up to work the first day.
The company gave me (paid me for) a week of learning to code, mainly in python but also in C, and learning to use linux.

They've offered me a job for next year (when I graduate) which I'm going to accept.
The Culture
The interns go out for a pub lunch each week, and most weeks of the internship the company spent money on a tab behind the bar of a local pub for the interns to go to.
Living was cheap (the company provide strongly subsidised accommodation). Socialising was similarly cheap as the company often spent money on a tab behind the bar of a local pub.
Near Enfield there isn't a huge amount, but it's in London so you can always get a train into the centre for good nightlife (at a price)
A group of interns began rock-climbing during their internship on weekends; there were regular lunchtime clubs for football, touch rugby, badminton, ultimate frisbee...
