The Role
Overall it was a good experience - my team were awesome and I got a pretty good insight into my aspect of the division.
I felt like I was able to add quite a lot of value to the team. I was working full-time on a large project and so I was happy to help out wherever I could.
My manager and team were great - always happy to explain things to me and they were always good fun both in and out of the office.
At times I was quite busy, but a lot of the time I felt that once I had finished my ad-hoc tasks, I didn't really have much to do. I had a couple of longer term projects, but even these didn't take up too much time. However I used my spare time to network around the floor and learn more about other areas of the division.
I was given a lot of responsibility. From the first week that I joined, the main associate working on the project was on holiday and I took on his responsibility without much understanding at all. From then on, I was remained keen to learn more and tried my best to contribute to the success of the project throughout my internship.
I found that my role was not very technical at all. My tasks were very admin-orientated, to the extent that my financial services knowledge helped at times, but it was not crucial in determining how well I did my job. At the same time, I don't feel I learnt a great deal that is going to directly help me in my studies. Having said this, some of the key skills that I have picked up such as project management skills, working to tight deadlines and stakeholder management will undoubtedly help me in my future career.
The Company
Office was great - it was a hard working but relaxed atmosphere.
Very well organised, lots of fun events and useful sessions.
I felt the company was always great at putting aside time to help you learn.

A lot of time goes into planning your next few years and working on development points to get the most out of career at the company.
The Culture
Interns got on really well, and it was good to meet up sometimes outside of work.
For London, I don't think it was too bad at all. The office was easy to get to and any events outside of the office were a reasonable distance away.
London has a great nightlife!
We had a few drinks/events/nights out outside of work which were good fun.
