The Role
It was very hard work and stressful at times, but on the whole it was challenging and exciting and very enjoyable.
I felt like part of the team, I was not treated as an 'intern' but given real responsibility.
I was assigned a buddy, mentor and manager who all supported me and guided me in different aspects of my internship. Having these three official supervisors meant I was always comfortable in approaching at least one of them with any issues I had.
I was very busy during my internship, as it has been a very steep learning curve. However, it was important that I undertook everything I did to make the most of my short period of time at the firm.
I was given a real project to work on which I owned and was able to manage in my own way. However, I was given direction and support from my manager to ensure I was on the right track.
The technical skills I have gained will help me in my studies and in any career I choose to pursue and I have been developing my 'softer' skills which will serve me well in life.
The Company
There was generally a friendly atmosphere and it was fun when there was time.
There was a lot of investment into the programme. It covered all aspects, enabling us to gain a full insight into the firm. It was very much a two-way process.
There was training and development for all aspects, whether that was technical, personal or firmwide.

Most full time recruiting is done through internships and many will get made offers.
The Culture
The divisional interns socialised everyday and there were bigger firm organised events which enabled us to socialise with other division interns.
Central London is very expensive!
Lots of places to socialise within walking distance. Very accessible.
A community day was set up through work and it was possible to get involved in activities during the evening.
