The Role
The internship was challenging, however I learnt a lot. It was a truly useful experience. This internship influenced my decision about my future career choice.
It was difficult to establish relationships in the beginning of the internship. It took me a while to get used to corporate environment and communication style. Likely, I had a buddy, and her mentoring was very helpful for me. I learnt to be objective and remain positive when reacting to criticism.
My managemnt has been surprisigly helpful to point out my mistakes and possibilities to improve.
I felt overwhelmed with work in the beginning of the internship.I felt a lot of pressure from deadlines. Later, as I got used to work, it took me much less to complete the same tasks. As I gradually learnt how to balance and prioritise my workload, I started enjoying the internship, and I realised that the amount of work is manageble.
From the first day I was immediately delegated all the routine tasks that other asnalysts usually do. Moreover, I was given some really important pieces of work, and I was directly responsible to the MDs. I was given as much responsibility as possible, the only constraint was my lack of skills/knowledge as a beginner.
I didnt learn much finance, but I developed some surviving skills. Very useful for life.
The Company
The atmosphere is very busy. When I stopped stressing out, it actually became fun.
London office was very organised, regional office was the opposite.
Since I was placed in regional office, I didn'thave the opportunity to get involved in the training.
Healthcare from home
I would be happy to get a job at the desk that I like.
The Culture
Fellow students were really friendly
Food was expensive.
The nightlife was probably good, I didnt experience any though
I spent all time at work.
