The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my work placement, and would rate it as a highly positive experience. The people I have met and worked with, the opportunities I have been given and the skills I have acquired and developed have meant the internship has been both greatly enjoyable as well as extremely useful in terms of career development.
I was made to feel welcome right from the start and integrated into the team like any other employee. Team projects and daily tasks allowed me to contribute to the team and feel valued as a member.
I have received great support and guidance on all levels through the mentoring system. Having a buddy, mentor and manager meant I had social, career, personal and welfare support if I needed it.
My work level did fluctuate but on the whole I was relatively busy. It was never too stressful, and apart from a few days of being really quiet, a good balance was achieved.
I was given more responsibilities as the weeks went on, but even from the start, the projects I worked on contributed to the team and its workflow. Daily team tasks and reports were a particular responsibility which allowed me to make a valuable contribution to helping the team.
I think I have developed many transferrable skills that will come in useful in future years regardless of what I study or work on. In particular, I would highlight communication skills, teamwork and time management.
The Company
There was a positive atmosphere in the office - the open plan format and team set-up meant that there was frequent communication between people, which created a comfortable, enjoyable yet professional environment to work in.
I cannot fault the organisation of the internship - it was clear that a lot of time and effort had been put into the whole internship to allow us, for example, to gain exposure to high-profile employees, learn lots and network with people.
I felt like the firm cared about both my personal and career development.

Future employment prospects are certainly appealing to me - the internship scheme seems like a good channel for graduate jobs and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences as an intern.
The Culture
There were a good number of social events; some organised by the firm and some by the interns themselves.
Fairly expensive, as expected.
Had a couple of good nights out but not enough to judge!
Yes - played both tennis and netball outside of work.
