The Role
The office environment throughout the company is extremely friendly. Meanwhile events were put on outside of work which provided great networking and social opportunities.
No matter how high people are in the company they always have an interest in what you are doing.
Given the in house ethic of the company I garauntee this would usually be much higher, however I was in a team of 3, where my managers were extremely busy throughout the period. I had regular meetings with one of my managers to monitor my progress on my project.
I was always busy from start to finish, wether it was learning new terms and reading report or preparing presentations. There was a quiet period in the middle of the internship due to holidays, this is expected however.
I was given sole responsibility for my own project throughout the internship, and was allowed to help prepare high level presentations for senior staff.
My skills on power point and excel have improved greatly. It also gave me a chance to practice presenting something not included in my course
The Company
There was a serious work ethic on my floor, however everyone had a good sense of humour and were great to be around.
We had a multitude of presentatons throughout the internship. This allowed you to gain a strong understanding of other parts of the industry you were not heavily involved in. The H.R staff organised everything brilliantly.
My mangers were interested to know my personal goals at the start of the internship and what i was looking to get out of it, then helped me throughout my time to work on these goals.
Company Parties/Events
This internship has improved my employment prospects both internally and externally. If you work hard and perfom the company try their hardest to find you a place in the firm that matches your skill set.
The Culture
Colleagues all met up regularly for drinks outside of work.
If you are from outside of London, costs are a shock to the system at first, however once you get used to the London life everything seems affordable.
Being in the center of London, the nightlife couldn't be much better.
During my 10 week internship the following events took place: JPM run, annual softball tournament, company sports ladders, graduate vs intern football and basketball.
