The Role
Thoroughly enjoyable, everyone was very nice!
Really became integrated into the team, felt valued
More than enough guidance and support
Very busy, regularly 1am finishes, high pressure and many deadlines
More and more as the time went on, which meant it became even more enjoyable
Not directly applicable, but things like time management and networking skills clearly improved
The Company
Can be relaxed and busy, but always very enjoyable
Generally well organised, however some issues with taking time to process things - to be expected from a bank of this scale though
1 week mandatory training, good experience - though main learning came from being on the desk (as expected) and doing the work. Steep learning curve but once crossed becomes a constant learning experience
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
High conversion rate compared to peers.
The Culture
Everyone got on very well
Canary wharf is expensive as expected.
Not much in Canary Wharf but London is always an easy trip (if there's time). Some good bars around the area, but in terms of nightclubs not a lot
Not really much time to do anything else! 1 day (morning or afternoon) community service was organised by HR, occasional football
