The Role
Everyone was really friendly but i'd have liked to be busier.
I don't think that many colleagues were aware of the scheme and often thought I was school age/work experience.
I had catch ups with my manager and saw him most days.
I think that interns may be slightly underestimated in how long it will take to do certain things and due to holidays/people off sick sometimes I didn't have that much on.
It's hard to give interns much responsbility in the team I was in.
They probably won't help with my studies but in my grad job will hopefully be valuable. I'm in quite a specialised area so can't be sure of this.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and got on well but the type of work it is meant people did have to get on with work generally without too much talking.
I sometimes found I didn't have much to do because my manager/team were really busy
We have presentations on different areas of the bank for interns regularly throughout the placement
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
I haven't found out if I have a referral onto the grad scheme yet.
The Culture
The interns would often meet after work for drinks and London always has a lot going on.
London is never going to be cheap.
I couldn't go out much as I was commuting from London instead of living there but I know that a lot of other interns would go out and nightlife is always good in London.
I believe my team took part in cricket and football but these are really male dominated events.
