  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Came away feeling generally very positive about the Bank as an organisation and potential employer.

    • Much stress on the importance of interns and graduates to the organisation.

    • We were provided with lots of information about the different roles available and selection process. There were also opportunities to ask questions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Very little theoretical/degree-related content. It was mostly about the internship and graduate opportunities.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • We were told the schedule for the day and it seemed to run very smoothly.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • About as exciting as hearing about job opportunities for 6 hours straight can be.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • Day seemed well-thought-through and planned. We did only make contact with 1 HR person and about 6 graduates. Would have been nice to be able to hear from/speak to a longer-serving employee, especially as they kept stressing that people work there for a long time.

    • Graduate question panel was great in this regard.

    • Very good, will definitely be applying for the summer internship.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • Expenses reimbursement available but not necessary for me.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Networking with graduates at lunch and at the end of the day (with wine!). And graduate panel. Also the day was run by an HR guy.

    • Networking at lunch and at the end of the day with graduate who were very willing to give (what seemed) frank and useful advice and information.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • Yes, heard quite a bit about this. Could probe more during the graduate panel as well. There seem to be many opportunities.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?

    • Absolutely, if only to spend a day inside this amazing institution. But really, the day was very useful.
