The Role
I had a really fantastic time I got to learn a lot about the role and the company as a whole.
I was immediately made to feel like a valued member of the team and was introduced to wider members of the organisation.
Both my line manager and the team leader gave me lots of opportunities to develop and where I needed it support to do this.
I always had work to do, either work for my team or work towards my objectives for my personal development.
I was given the opportunity to lead a project on implementing a new training programme into one of the courses.
Many of the skills I deep oped like planning and communication will be helpful in my degree studies but I think they will help me much more when I re-enter the workplace.
The Company
My team made me feel very welcome and there was also a great atmosphere among the interns in the office we all got on well.
The scheme seems well set up and in place but when my line manager raised queries with the emerging talent team they were often slow to respond.
My development was important to my line manager and I was given many opportunities. It was made clear that if I was to get on the grad scheme I would have the opportunity to complete the CIPD, a widely recognised HR qualification.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Referred by my line manager onto the grad scheme
The Culture
The interns within my office always ate lunch together and often went out together
Whilst being in a major city and having the cost of going out there the pay was good and living at home meant that I had lots if money for socialising
Leeds has a great night life
I went on a number of social outings but these were organised by me, interns in the office or my colleagues
