    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The work was interesting and challenging and provided great insight into the life of the firm.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everybody was extremely friendly and welcoming and trusted me to fulfill new and unfamiliar tasks, giving me personal responsibility and showing that my work was valuable to the projects I was working on.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everybody I interacted with made it clear that they were available for support and for me to ask questions, and if I was stuck help me out. The Buddy system they implemented was amazing and very supportive

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The vast majority of the time I was busy on important tasks but some of the time I was between projects with little to do but that is the nature of the industry and I was quickly placed onto a new area.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Consistently throughout the firm, managers felt confident to delegate responsibility for important tasks to me. I saw some of my work form final pieces of work that were submitted to clients, but as an intern with little or no experience there is a natural limit to what I am capable of taking responsibility for in such a short time period.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The main skills I have learned are soft skills, how to organise and work as part of a team, how to structure work and how to be a proffessional

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a perfect balance between a professional work environment and a fun-loving sociable group of people

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The structure was loose and dependent on the demands of the business with interns essentially being treated as first year associates. I really enjoyed this structure as I could immerse myself into what it would really be like. Secondly, we had an intern challenge which was very exciting and development days to further our skills and understanding of PwC. My only criticism is that the initial training we received was very poor and thin on the ground in terms of hard content.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I received all the training that every member of staff receives annually, the interns had a development day, we had an intern challenge alongside our other work to develop the necessary skills at PwC and whenever staff members were supporting me they took time to explain why we do things and what knock on effects things can have.

  • I lived at home during the internship and the cost of socializing is cheap relative to London

    5/5
