The Role
I very much enjoyed learning about the aeroderivative technology that the firm employs in its energy business.
I felt respected by the rest of the team and was asked to lead several projects individually.
My supervisors provided a very supportive environment. They were very approachable and pointed me in the right direction whenever I asked for it.
The workload varied. Sometimes I would be waiting on responses from customers before I could complete certain tasks.
I was responsible for documenting findings for several important investigations into product safety and qualtiy. I developed VBA tool to track potential repair schemes which is now being used by the department on a full time basis.
My problem solving skills were applied to real world situations which was exciting. Furthermore, my knowledge of fluids and gas turbine architecture will aid me further in my degree studies. I also learnt a great deal about the oil and gas industry and is an area which I find particularly interesting.
The Company
My colleagues were very approachable and fun to be around.
I was given specific tasks to carry out within the 10 weeks.
There were several online courses available. I visited an overhaul base in Aberdeen which was paid for by the firm.
I have received a job offer from Rolls-Royce for the graduate scheme.
The Culture
The Warwick office had only a few interns and we mainly stuck together. Leamington has a nice social scene.
Compared to studying in London, it was fine.
Leamington has several bars and clubs which are great for meeting up with the other interns and graduates.
