The Role
Very good exposure to many areas of the company. A great knowledge of the brewing industry gained.
Didn't feel like a student during the experience. Everyone ranging from operators to managers, happy to consult with me and involve me in projects.
Many people offered advice and support
Ranged throughout the year depending on business requirements.
Involved in key processes related to production as well as smaller projects.
The skills picked up will benefit my final year of degree and I have also learnt some important skills for the manufacturing sector
The Company
Good mix between concentration and light hearted humour
Hit and Miss. Some aspects very well set up - others less so.
Chances to go on training courses particular to projects as well as regular mentor meetings to suggests development areas.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
A good company to work for.
The Culture
Free staff bar and six students on placement meant a good social scene was created.
Burton-on-Trent has very cheap living costs
Burton itself average. Derby and Birmingham only 20 minutes by train.
Limited. But didn't look too far.
