The Role
I enjoyed working in the charity - everyone was really friendly and approachable. However didn't enjoy the work I was doing as much. Made me realise I wanted to work in a field using my degree.
I felt very valued by my colleagues - they were very encouraging.
The support I gained was good, however most of the time I was not working with my Manager - mostly another team member.
Workload was up and down. Some days I would have a lot to do and some not very much to at all.
I was able to conduct research and set up meetings with external organisations through building these relationships, which I felt was a good amount of responsibility
I think I did develop skills which will assist me beyond my studies, however as I have decided to look into more technical careers using my degree some of these skills will be less relevant.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly, but was quite quiet in the office. Open plan set up.
Generally the internship scheme was extremely well organised. There were two induction days to introduce you to the charity and the internship co-ordinator was extremely helpful. I found my placement was slightly less well organised within the team.
There was mid-way CV training, which I found extremely helpful. My managers were also very keen to help me with my CV.

Working from home
The internship does not lead to definite employment by the charity. However interns do have access to the internal jobs website while they are undertaking their internship. There was a job within my team that came up. However I had already decided that I wanted a more people orientated role.
The Culture
Most Fridays interns would go for drinks to local pubs and we also had lunch together everyday.
London so expensive!
A few bars and pubs around the office.
Many fundraising activities to get involved with. Some interns helped evening events, music festivals, races etc. I also volunteered at a stall promoting cancer awareness.
