About You
It was very well structured with interesting and enjoyable activities, however, I would have preferred a more detailed insight into the structure of the 5 year programme.
The current school leaver students spent time talking to and advising me which was very nice and informative.
My view is that having less guidance is more helpful as I use my initiative more, so I didnt' feel that this was an issue. Moreover, i feel that BDO did this deliberately to see the best candidates
The speech from current professionals in specific fields has really helped and persuaded me into my future studies.
The Company
It went very smooth and when problems were encountered, they were dealt with efficiently.
It was very enjoyable, however, there was a slight competitive atmosphere, which is ok but did quieten the day.
I think that the company invested alot of time into the insight day, as the current school leavers spent nearly all day with us, so in terms of lost time, BDO invested alot with us. However, the tasks were quite basic so not a lot was spent in terms of that, however, the tasks were informative and useful.
Having spoken to the current school leavers individually, they told me what it was like to work with BDO, which was very useful.
The insight day didn't really cover this topic, as it wasn't a very relevant subject.
The day was very informative and very very useful tips were given to me. I am very interested in working for BDO as a result of this insight day.
Everything Else
I didn't incur any expenses and attended the insight day by choice.
I met current school leavres and also the director of tax. Meeting these employees was very useful.
At lunch, there were opportunities to speak to other candidates and members of the firm.
Yes, I found out about the regular events that get organised by the staff, for example, a trip to watch cricket matches and also the BDO Bristol football team.
Yes, this insight day was an invaluable experience to help me with my future career choice. I will and have already recommended this insight day to my friends.
