About You
There was a slight mishap with my laptop that made the first day difficult but other than that a really good experience.
People were really helpful when I asked questions, and took time out to explain to me their jobs and the background of meetings I sat in on, which helped me to feel involved in the office.
People were helpful, but I was on a week long program so this would never be extensive.
It helped me to see how certain aspects of my degree applied to real work.
The Company
I was on the shadow a female leader program which meant it was less structured, but they were good at moving me around the department to shadow whoever had the most interesting thing going on.
It was a really friendly office, and everyone was happy to talk to me and help me with my work.
It was a week so whilst people were good at explaining their jobs/work, there was not enough time for training
Really helpful
Shadowing meant I got to experience many sides of the firm and many of the people I shadowed had worked at other big 4 firms so gave a comparison of the different cultures in each firm
It made me consider the role much more seriously, and has helped with working out what kind of internship I want next summer
Everything Else
I was taken around the office to meet people, and moved from person to person whilst shadowing, people would also come up to me to introduce themselves - a very friendly environment
I was invited out to lunch on the last day, but as a week program, social event opportunities were limited. I expect this would be better on the internship.
Definitely
