The Role
I had a very thoroughly stimulating time at Danone , which provided me with many opportunities to learn from experts within the Nutrition Industry and then put these new skills into practice. The great thing about this company is the more you prove yourself the more trust and responsibility they give you for the next project, which for me culminated in the opportunity to drive project management for nutritional marketing.
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. There is a real spirit of commitment to delivering the best results through utilizing each individuals best skillset. The company even does psychological profiling in order to decipher each individuals best communication strategy, it really is awesome!
I had weekly one to one meetings with my line manager to discuss personal development plans and go over any project issues. However there is the atmosphere that if you need to ask for help then your manager is really happy to provide you with the necessary guidance.
yes I was very busy. The project I worked on often spanned month long periods whilst simultaneously having to manage time to deal with the urgent responses.
At first I was given enough responsibility to give me a positive challenge for instance researching nutritional papers to provide business insights and responses to queries. After proving my earning trust I was provided the opportunity to manage a piece of nutritional marketing from start to finish handling a budget of thousands of pounds!
The placement has enabled me to analyze nutritional research with a confidence that was not delivered to me at University. Danone also gave the chance to enhance my skills at project management and thriving within a team of skilled professionals who really know there stuff!
The Company
Everyone is really helpful and full of energy.
I really enjoyed the structure that was given working as a nutrition assistant for the Medical Affairs team. As a quarter way into the placement I was given the chance to specialize in a specific category (toddler diets) which provided fascinating learning opportunity.
There was lots of nutrition specific training, and there were also internal exams. I had the opportunity to go to many different places (and even countries) to network with industry professionals and further my learning.
