The Role
I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hays.
The team I was placed in have been great, while I was the only intern I still felt valued by the team. The office in general is relatively young with a great atmosphere with some great social events.
The support not just from my direct manager, but director and other team members has been great. There is a lot to take in and processes to get your head around at first, but if I ever had a question or query everyone was happy to help.
I am definitely never bored, there is a lot of work which is a big step up from the hours I was working at uni, but it is fulfilling when placements are made and you can see the hard work pay off. I also think getting used to putting in the hours and working hard here will put me in good stead for my final year at uni.
From early on I was thrown in at the deep end which can be a bit daunting having to deal with candidates and clients, but I think it was very beneficial as the best way to learn and understand the process in recruitment is to be involved.
I have definitely learnt a great deal that will help me in my studies and beyond. I have learnt basic things like time management, which I thought I already had understood but not to the degree that was needed for work. I have also learnt was recruiting and interviews are like from the other side of the table which was very insightful and will definitely help me in future applications.
The Company
The atmosphere has been great, as said before the office is generally quite young and fun. While there will always be times when you have to get your head down and work there is definitely a play hard side as well.
The set up was pretty well done, I knew in advance who I was working with, what department etc with no real issues.
There are two key training courses that you will undertake, and once both are passed you will be fully prepared to be a full fledged consultant.

There are good prospects for future employment as long as you put the work in and show your worth to the company
The Culture
There was always something on a friday night and sometimes week nights. As long as the department and company had done well the 'end of period wrap ups' where always fun with celebrations within the office stemming out until after work.
Being central London it isn't cheap to live / socialise
