The Role
It was not enjoyable in the slightest. I felt like a burden to the team. I also felt like they didn't want me there to learn or train me to then be helpful to them but to fill the boots of people going on holiday.
I was not valued at all and in some cases I felt very nervous around them as I felt I was being judged.
I got very little support and guidance. I was given work way beyond my level and expected to complete it like someone else on the team within the deadline given. Naturally this did not happen.
I was very busy but a lot of my time was spent staring at a computer screen trying to understand the work I was given.
I was given lots and maybe even too much work. I was given the same responsibilty as everyone else on the team despite my banking experience being zero to none and they had all been in the business for at least 20 years.
I study history at the degree skills I have did not really help me. However I've learnt how to manage my time and organise myself a little bit more since I've been doing my internship.
The Company
I had very interesting people next to me. However my line manager was very close and there was never any chat with him. I'd get a good morning if I was lucky.
It was organised to some extent. However I felt like I could have had a good briefing about what I was expected to do at the beginning.
I got very little personal training and development. When I did I felt like I was at school and there was a right or wrong answer. Meetings were more like a personal attack than a helpful, insighful chat.

Company Parties/Events
I would not work for LBG in the future. This is not just because I have had a poor experience this time round because I do understand it is luck of the draw. Rather it's because I don't think it is the type of work that suits me.
The Culture
We got on very well, although the Charity Challenge led to a few spats, and we spent a lot of time together.
Being based in Edinburgh during the Fringe meant things were very expensive! We didn't even had a oven or hob in the accomodation provided which meant a lot of money was spent on food!
It was good during the Fringe but wasn't great.
I got the opportunity to do the Day to Make a Difference but felt quite excluded from the team.
