The Role
The work I was doing was highly engaging, and being part of the Bank was a fascinating experience.
I was made to feel very welcome from the first day. Everyone I encountered was extremely helpful and friendly.
I had regular meetings with my line manager which were very useful.
For the most part, the daily workload was just about perfect. It did intensify during the final two weeks, when I was due to give a presentation and write a note summarising the work I did during the internship.
The amount of responsibility I was given greatly exceeded my expectations. I worked on a project which was important to my division.
The work I did at the Bank gave me valuable insight into the practical applications of econometrics.
The Company
The atmosphere was very friendly, lively and interesting.
The goals were made very clear at the start and support was provided throughout the internship.
The people I worked with were always very happy to offer advice about many things, including the use of econometric software. Presentation skills and Microsoft Outlook skills training sessions were available to all the interns.

Following a successful internship, the Bank will allow you to choose between taking a graduate job, or applying to be sponsored to do a masters degree.
The Culture
Over the course of the internship I often went out for drinks with the other interns, and we also regularly arranged to have lunch together.
The main downside of the internship was probably the high prices associated with living in London.
The nightlife seems pretty good, though I didn't get the chance to experience it very often.
There's a sports club, though unfortunately I didn't get the chance to use it myself.
