The Role
It was an amazing opportunity to get real life experience within this company and this industry. It offered an insight into many varying parts of the business, its processes, expectations and competencies.
The sense of 'team' was very high and every project was presented and promoted as a team effort.
Support, people management and encouragement were ever-present throughout the internship but it was certainly a case of learning as you go. It was important to think on your feet as specific training was not systematic.
There was a very strong mix but extremely busy days were more frequent where as afternoons waiting for the 6pm close of play were few and far between.
I was surprised and really pleased with the high level of trust and responsibility placed in me as an intern.
The placement provided me with an unparalleled opportunity to learn, engage and develop. I would say that learning more about myself and how I work has been one of the highlights of my experiences with L'Oreal.
The Company
The atmosphere was warm and there was a strong sense of comaraderie but I think the fun dynamic differs from team to team.
The organisation and schedule of the internship was well communicated and clearly set out throughout.
There were opportunities for personal developement sessions were frequently organised.

The internship leads on to a graduate scheme that is explained by the recruiment team early in the process. The internship provides a clear stepping stone but I have yet to hear the result.
The Culture
There was a good group of people who looked to socialise outside of work and we did organise a few occasions. However, this group was actually smaller than I expected but maybe this was just a case of our intern take this year.
Typically priced for London.
There was a good variety of pubs and nearby areas offered bars and nightclubs.
The opportunity to organise sport or club activities outside of work werent maximised by our intern committee.
