The Role
I was given several companies to analyse, which involves, primarily, looking through company reports and building models.
Obviously nobody's going to invest on your say so, but people do take you seriously and I didn't feel marginalized.
Support was great. You have a 'Director of Research' - who has 20+ years of investing experience - as your supervisor. He was available (and willing) to answer questions pretty much all the time.
No one is looking over your shoulder and how much work you do is pretty much up to you. I worked roughly 8:00 - 8:00 and 5 out of 8 weekends.
In terms of getting on with the job, almost 100% - you can do the job in any way you like so long as you deliver results. It's unlikely that anyone would invest on your advice. but then that's to be expected.
It is super experience for doing the job full-time. It is relevant to my course in any way.
The Company
I don't have anything to compare it with, but there was plenty of chit-chat to break up the work.
Exceptionally well organised.
The company invested an enormous amount of time in all the interns. There were three days of external training in the first week and internal training throughout.
Received a job offer.
The Culture
HR organised several drinks events which were nice. Outside of that we often had lunch together.
London prices
Great if you want it.
Not that I saw.
