The Role
The internship has been amazing, it has really helped me develop my skills; particularly in sales! As the role is very autonomous I was given alot of personal responsibilites to manage on a daily basis in which I had control over the way I chose to manage them. As an intern, it was made clear to me that I could make business decisions wherever I felt they would be of benefit to our customers and company without having to seek permission from higher management. This made me feel really valued as well as boosting my management skills!
Our branch has a real family atmosphere. Every employee here is completely different from one and other, this diversity makes it a very exciting place to work! I felt valued by my colleagues as well as seeing value in them, as although we are different we all strive towards the same business goals which as a result creates a great sense of value within our whole team.
My branch manager was great. He constantly went over my progression with me, setting new targets and helping me find the best ways I could meet those targets. Couldn't have asked for a better manager or team! As well as within the branch, I received alot of support from the recruitment team who have supported me since the first interview for the internship!
We were always busy, every day - which is exactly the kind of working environment I'd recommend. However, every day was different, on days where we were less busy with customers we took control of other tasks such as marketing our local accounts, controlling outstanding finances etc. You were never left without responsibilities and there were always enough employees to manage busiest times to our optimum.
I was given alot of personal tasks in which I had complete autonomy over. My manager also asked me frequently if there were any roles in which I'd seen other employees doing that I'd like to do myself!
I feel like this 12 weeks has provided me with a real solid skill base to build my career - potentially with Enterprise as the prospects for promotion look very possible and appealing.
The Company
We had alot of fun in our branch, which made getting up in the morning a nice feeling!! We would order in team lunches and spend social time as a team outwith work.
During the internship I had several out of office training days which were valuable to my on the job learning. As well as this we had a full weeks training before the internship!!
Company Parties/Events
I can't wait to start full time work with Enterprise. From the beginning it was made clear that hard work and performance would give you options for staying on, which in my case it has. Enterprise have offered me work out with term time at University and to come back full time when I graduate!
