The Role
I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend applying!
I felt very valued - my team were all very appreciative. My manager would always thank me for my time and effort.
I thought my manager was fantastic! I felt very supported and during the scheme you are supported by the volunteering team. You also are able to attend cv and training days and have a 1:1 session with HR to ask any questions .
I was pretty busy most days
I was given quite a lot of responsibility ( which was good). I was running a few projects .
The skills will be of great use in the future especially when applying for my first grad job!
The Company
Good! Relaxed and fun. I felt that everyone work very hard but it was a nice, chilled atmosphere. I did not feel as if i was constantly being looked over by someone. People were always there if i needed help too.
Very good and very supportive :) From day one you have support and there are regular emails to see if you are ok. You also have one to ones weekly with your manager as well as completing a skills pack to help you in the future.
I attended training initially which told you all about CR- UK which was very interesting. We also had a CV and training day which was very helpful and you also have a 1:1 to with someone in HR to look over your CV. I also had corporate partnership training and presentation training. As well as training to use a specific database.
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Interns have access to internal jobs and a lot of staff i met were past interns. You are not guaranteed a job though.
The Culture
Really good! All the interns went out and were a social bunch! We normally had drinks after works, ate lunch together and organised nights out together.
Expensive - as it was central london so it was quite costly.I was also based in Brighton which was also quite an expensive area.
Fun there were a lot of local bars and clubs near the office and the interns organised a lot of drinks after work as a night out .
A lot of opportunities to get involved in such as events and festivals. I helped out at a lot of extra events which was really fun. The interns also put on their own fundraising event as well.
