The Role
Difficult getting used to the mon-fri 9-5, as time progressed, seen less as chore, and more as a need
Some colleagues would say hi, whereas others would ignore you when working down the corridor after an intense meeting with them
Management always stressed they are always there for support and provided weekly 1-2-1 meetings
Fairly busy most days, although have sacrificed my social life somewhat. Advantage because most of my friends are also on placement
Not much responsibility. Tasks that analysts would prefer not to do themselves would be handed over to me. Tedious and not seen as business critical
Developed many skills in the workplace. Increased confidence. Although not every skills learnt has been touched on and would prefer if it related to my course more.
The Company
Older generation. 30's to 40's. Quite dull not enough socials or jokes being said.
Somewhat organised. Some essential documents were missing in the introductory welcome pack. Kind of lost the stigma of being an intern to other employees.
invested somewhat. Only output being work produced.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Healthcare from home
Many opportunities and positions to be filled within the company. Although not secured as yet.
The Culture
Made very good friends, although hardly got to see each other
Cheap drinks and fairly cheap living costs. Food is dirt cheap. 11" Pizza's for £2 delivered!
Very good nightlife, although didn’t get to appreciate the student nights due to work :(
Not much else to do outside work. Some volunteering work but that involved planting pots..
