The Role
The working environment is very friendly and approachable. The work provided high level insight into the bank, which was very interesting and motivating
I was frequently asked to help with projects and assignments. In some cases, my judgement and input was requested and I felt I added value to the team.
Whenever I needed help or direction, colleagues and managers were always on hand and approachable.
You can put as much or as little work in as you wish to get out. There will always be a report or project you can help with.
I was surprised at the responsibility given to me after only a short amount of time. The work was important, had high visibility with senior management and interesting!
The analytical approach, and questioning nature of the work is useful in all areas of work and study. In addition, the interaction with many different colleagues added to my relationship and communication skills, especially explaining technical detail to an unfamiliar audience
The Company
It wasn't exactly a party, but it certainly wasn't dull. People were in generally good spirits and friendly, yet professional
There was no real structure, and it seems the internship is essentially a lottery on what the workload of the team is, and who your manager is. That being said, this means it is much easier to tailor the internship to what you want to get out of it.
Minimal training was provided.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
The company is growing, and expanding in certain areas which is an exciting time to join.
The Culture
We always had lunch together, but rarely more than that
Central London, so can be very expensive if you do not have anywhere to live in the city
Again, central London so very good for socialising
We were invited to numerous presentation days to gain a better understanding of the business as a whole, and a personal development day.
