The Role
I really enjoyed my work placement at Enterprise ! As a graduate with a degree in Microbiology I had no formal training or education in the business sector and the internship at Enterprise was a great insight into what it was like to work for an international company.
My colleagues at my branch were so helpful and were always on hand to help me with any problems that I had. spening ten hours a day for 12 weeks with the same small group of 5 or 6 people sounded terrifying at the start but everyone was so nice and I'll genuinely miss them when I leave !
The support I received from the management assistants, assistant manager and branch manager here in Paisley was great ! They helped me work through my Business Management Folder and were a great resource when it came to working on my business development proposal
When they tell you in training, that you'l find yourself looking at a clock in your branch, realise it's 5 o'clock and think where did the day go - they aren't lying ! I was always kept busy, be it with customers, marketing or keeping in contact with other businesses.
I was surprised to find that during my internship I didn't feel like an intern ! I was gien the same tasks as everyone else, and definitely felt like a member of the team.
I am going on to start my Masters in International Marketing Management after my internship finishes, and decided to apply for it after accepting this internship ! I regularly spoke with managers who were in charge of marketing and setting up corprorate accounts and from my own branch was able to see how important both good marketing and good management are to a company. It's been a great insight into a working business enviroment and I think it has been a very valuable experience for not only my degree but also for future jobs.
The Company
I loved my office ! Full of great chat, and everyone got on so well. We did stupid things like go on the cereal diet together for 2 weeks - trying to get ourselves summer bodies but only ended up failing and going on subway and starbucks runs but I have been so lucky to be part of such a great team set up .
The internship was well set up from start to finish. The interview process alongside graduates going for full time positions was a good experince for later on in life. The training week in Stirling was good, as it allowed me to meet with all the other interns and I felt like I learned so much in just 5 days. The graduate BBQ at the end of the summer where all the interns pitched a business development proposcal to managers and university representatives was also a great idea as it allowed us to actually formally learn something and practice our presentation skills and get great feedback which is really useful for university and beyond.
Although the training week and further intern sessions were interesting and a good chance to meet up with other interns, I feel that the best training I received came once I had started in the branch.

The future employment prospects are great with enterprise and the opportunity to come back and work over the holidays and once I've completed my masters is ideal !
The Culture
There was constantly emaisl floating about between the interns arranging night outs and the intern BBQ was a great chance for everyone to come together and meet up before everyone headed back off to univeristy.
I was able to stay at home and commute to a branch about 30 minute drive away so I only had to cover the cost of fuel , which you can't complain about on a paid internship !
Only 10 minutes from GlasgowCity Centre so lots to do !
Lots of emails from surrounding branches always arranging nights out etc
