The Role
It has been a very enjoyable experience.
The department itself is very social and I formed strong relationships with my colleagues.
Managers were very supportive and offered lots of guidance. Support is very structured - I was given a buddy and a people manager and both went out of their way to help me.
There was usually a good amount of work to keep me busy, however I rarely had to stay late to finish work.
The nature of the work given to me was very important to the project,
The internship has definitely helped me to develop skills which will prove useful for the entirety of my career.
The Company
It depends on the team you are within, but the general atmosphere is great. There's lots of banter between colleagues.
The organisation of the internship is left very much up to you. Beyond the induction there isn't much in the way of planned event - but this isn't always a bad thing. It's very much up to you to organise things for yourself and people are very happy to participate.
They invested a lot of time in making my experience enjoyable.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I got a job offer from them and very much intend on taking this opportunity.
The Culture
This was mixed. Of the 50 or so interns in the More London office, 10 was the biggest turnout for any intern-organised event.
Roughly £4.50 for a decent pint, pretty standard for the area. Senior staff were usually generous buying drinks though.
The nightlife around central London is great, so much choice for everyone.
There were opportunities, but often you had to find these yourself, they weren't always well advertised.
