The Role
As with any jobs there are some dull tasks, but in the main it was good.
You never felt like you were a burden and they always thanked you for the work you completed at the end of the project.
Thoroughly explained all the tasks set to you and were more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
In general fairly busy but depends on the client. Some clients are very organised and get the relevant work to you, others don't, and therefore you can be left waiting.
You are trusted to speak directly to high level employees at clients, as well as exposure to senior members (Partners, Directors) of the firm.
I learnt lots, not just about auditing but general business practice as you are exposed to the entire business from the very beginning.
The Company
Generally a relaxed atmosphere, which makes work easier and more fun to do.
Very well organised. It starts with a 3 day induction event at a hotel with other interns. This is a great way to meet the people your working with and start to understand your role. There is also a development day half way through the internship, which allows you to catch up with other interns and share experiences.
They invest a lot, with the 3 day induction event at the hotel being a prime example. (All expenses paid)
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Excellent company to work for, as they really focus on your development.
The Culture
As we were away at client sites a lot of the time it was pretty hard to organise anything. If you did stay away at a hotel, then you did go out for meals/drinks with colleagues.
Fairly expensive. Not dissimilar to London prices.
