The Role
I really enjoyed my experience. Working in tax was really interesting and it didn't seem to matter that I had never done anything like it all. Everyone I worked with was friendly, engaging and intersting and I had a lot of support. Overall I had a great experience and I hope that I can work here full time as a graduate.
I really liked all of my colleagues and got on well with them. They were always looking for work to give me if I didn't have much to do and were really patient with explaining things to me. There was also a fun social side.
I had a lot of support throughout the internship and I got a lot of guidance through feedback etc. which was really useful.
This really varied. I think because it was August there was obviously less work to do than normal so I did have quiet days but overall people were good at ensuring I had enough to do and the work was always interesting.
I think that I had a good level of responsibilty considering how little knowledge I had of accounting. I had interesting work which was valuable but I never felt under too much pressure.
I think that the experiences I got during the internship will be really valuable for any job but especially if I get a graduate job at the firm as it ensured that I now have a much better understanding of the firm and the work they do. The official training was also really useful and I think this will be valuable for any future job in business.
The Company
The office was really fun. Everyone was chatty and interesting. There weren't that many social events but I think this might have been because it was August and some people were on holiday.
The internship was really well organised. I always knew what I was supposed to do and where I was supposed to go. I also think that the training event in the first week was really good way of starting the internship and getting people comfortable with the people/work before getting to the office.
The firm invested a lot in my training. The whole first week was focused on training and I also did a lot of online training during my internship. The internal feedback system was also good and ensuring improvement over the internship.
Really appealing. I would really like to get a grad job here!
