The Role
I found the first week of the internship difficult. After getting used to the style of work and the relevant software it became easier and more enjoyable.
All my colleagues were very helpful regarding work and friendly to chat to about non-work related things during lunch etc. They made it easy to feel part of the team and valuable to the particular audit.
Everyone I worked with answered all my questions and went into great detail to really develop my understanding of the work. We were allocated a people manager and a buddy to ask general queries and to go to if we had any problems we felt we could not ask the team we were working with.
I always had client work to do but didn't feel overwhelmed. In any spare time we had an internship project/competition to work on.
I had responsibility but was made aware that any problems I encountered that I could go to my team for help.
The skills and understanding I developed during the internship were invaluable. I can see that they will help me in final year at uni. If I was to be offered a graduate job with PwC, the use of the audit software will definitely be beneficial.
The Company
During jobs that were very time pressured there was a big focus on the work, but during more relaxed jobs the atmosphere was good and I really got to know my colleagues.
The internship was well structured with three days residential training, two days training in the office and the rest of the time working out at client sites.
I feel that PwC invested a lot of time into my internship. The feedback system ensures that you have personal feedback on your performance for each job.
I would definitely accept an offer of a graduate job with PwC.
The Culture
There were a few social events organised through the six weeks that the interns were invited to.
