The Role
the placement was worthwhile. I learned alot about myself as an individual while having fun along the way.
My colleagues treated me like family members. Any issues which I had were dealt with accordingly and I was treated as a team player.
My managers gave me support and guidance. During busy periods, supervisors tried to assist aswell. If I had any problems they were dealt with. My manager told me what was expected of me and I was given expectations to target.
I was extremly busy. There were some days when I did not have a minute and was rushed off my feet dealing with many different things at the one time. This was stressful at times, but the day went in quickly as a result.
I was given alot of responsibility. I was even given responsibility to take money off of the cost of rentals. I was also in charge of expesnive vehciles, checking them in and out examining them for damage. This was alot of respobnsibility as they were high value assets.
The skills which I have developed will help me with my degree and future career. I have learned alot about myself as an individual and gained examples of the real working world which I can relate my management degree at university too, and furthermore use these examples in my final year at university.
The Company
The atmosphere within the office was generally good fun. There were some days where the atmosphere wasnt as great as it was busy and you could feel the tension from managers, but on the whole the business atmosphere was happy.
The internship was extemley well set up. We had a folder which detailed what was expected of us and our manager sat down and also told us what was expected. There were specific days set up for training alone which was beneficial as they were at different stages of the internship, allowing us to develop ourselves throughout the duration of the internship.
The firm invested alot of time and effort into myself training me up. I was getting the same training and development as a management trainee would get; therefore, we had the same training and insight to the business. This made me feel valued and the company took the time and effort to train me in all areas eventhough I was only there for 3 months.

Enterprise-Rent-A-Car are interested in taking me back to participate in mini placements throughout my final year at uni, with a view of hiring me as an MT when in complete university.
The Culture
Myself and the other three interns striked up a great relationship where we went out together on regular occassions outwith work. This mad ethe atmosphere in the branch more relaxed as we got on great together.
My branch was based in Glasgow city centre, therefore, the cost of going out was quite expensive. We tended to go out on student nights as it was alot cheaper and you got much more for your money.
The nighlife in Glasgow is fab. There are many bars and cllubs which you can choose from.
As I was only an intern for 3 months, there were not many opportunities to get involved within activities outside work. The branch was very busy too, however, full-time employees can volunteer for chairty 3 days per year.
