The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my summer 6 week internship at PwC.
I was able to work on a number of important clients and actually contribute to the success of the team. I felt that I could genuinely help my colleagues.
The support provided was fantastic due to the People Manager and Buddy system. They helped you settle into the office and also provided you with help on difficult aspects of the work. We received intensive technical training at the Latimer weekend.
I was kept fairly busy but there were sometimes quiet periods. Then it was up to me to actively seek out work which it is important to do.
I was trusted with important work for a number of large clients but had adequate support such that I didn't feel out of my depth.
I will be able to use the skills learnt in some future finance modules next year.
The Company
There was a relaxed and fun atmosphere thoroughout the whole office making it an enjoyable place to work.
The internship was very well structured meaning I always knew what was happening in the coming weeks and had time to prepare.
The firm invest a huge amount in you. They do everything they can for you to succeed and provide you with a great support network.
From my performance on the summer internship I have been offered a graduate job.
The Culture
All the other interns were very social and we went for a number of drinks and always had lunch together.
Manchester isn't too expensive.
The nightlife is Manchester is varied and a good night out.
Not too many in my department but I believe there are plenty if you search a bit.
