The Role
With this being my first experience of working within the Assurance sector, I feel as if I enjoyed the whole experience. I was thrown in at the deep end but in hindsight this seemed like the best way as I have only learnt so much through conducting the work rather than being taught how to conduct a job in a classroom.
All the people I have worked with made me feel extremely comfortable and considering they were expecting me to know nothing, this was quite comforting as there were no expectations. All the work I had completed was reviewed and the the team always gave me relevant coaching notes which was good for my personal development.
Everybody I approached out on client sites was fantastic in supporting me. All of my questions were answered quickly without too much delay. Being an intern, it can be quite daunting to think that you are asking too many questions, however this was welcomed by all members of staff which was quite comforting.
Considering I have not yet started back at university, I do not feel like I can judge the situation yet. I think that there are definitely some transferrable skills that I can take away with me, such as interacting with new people and I think I have some modules coming up this year that relate to the Audit internship I have completed. I hope that I can transfer some of the things I have learnt from the internship and use my practical experience in these modules.
The Company
I would say that the environment was very welcoming, but also at the same time when individuals were conducting work, it became more of a professional environment. This was not a bad thing at all in my mind as it just shows that everyone is up for socialising but does not forget the purpose of why they are at work.
The internship was definitely very well structured and should be carried through to all future internships. I believe that I was well informed of activities occurring around me. I was also informed well in advance of upcoming events which gave me time to make adequate arrangements.
The induction week was very well organised and PwC definitely catered well for all the interns. It was a great way to bring all the interns together so we could all meet eachother and this definitely helped with the upcoming weeks of meeting new people all the time.

This definitely seems like a place where I would like to start my career with and hope for a sustainable career well into the future. I believe the vast amount of opportunities available to the employees here is great and to add to the willingness of the company to aid personal development makes it a great prospective.
The Culture
Being within the Assurance team, I did not expect there to be many socials due to the nature of our work and this was very true. I felt that there definitely could have been more socials, even amongst the teams who are out on the audit site. Things like a meal out after completion of an audit would be ideal.
