The Role
The office was very enjoyable, but the second intake had the unfortunate timing of missing out on all the socials that the earlier intern intake were able to experience. Although, went out for drinks every Friday after work.
I was given a host of responsibilities that tied in with current deadlines and hence my work was valued.
Despite being given a lot of responsibility, there was always coaching available and you could ask anyone for help.
It varied, depending on if you were at clients or not. If you were at clients, then you would be busy all the time. In the office, there were times for waiting for work, but you could keep yourself busy with e-learning and research.
I was given a lot of responsibility as I was out at clients for the most part of the internship.
I developed my communication and organisational skills through the tasks I was assigned, and learnt a new system of prioritisation which helped a great deal.
The Company
The atmosphere was generally very friendly and welcoming - the odd baking on offer during Friday.
There was a varied amount of organisation with the amount of work were assigned to. Some managers weren't aware of interns being booked onto clients whereas other managers actively used interns to give them challenging tasks.
PwC invest heavily in you with all the training at a residential course in Latimer, and expenses for travelling to clients other than work. They are also accommodating of any personal issues you have, so they work round you.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Statistics varied from 84% - 97% of interns securing a graduate job.
The Culture
When all the interns were in the office, we were able to organise drinks and socials.
In Reading, the prices were fairly accommodating - £2.19 a pint at a local pub.
Only went out on the final night, as all the interns were on away jobs.
There were a variety of sports sessions on, such as badminton and football.
