The Role
I liked the work a lot, but socially the locations are lacking.
I was working in an underdeveloped area of the program and my knowledge was valued
I was never refused immediate help and team members would be helpful above expectations
I was always able to find work and extra work was offered optionally just in case I was short.
My new understanding of linux will be very useful. My team skills and lessons in program design were very important too.
The Company
There was a flat, open arrangement where anyone could talk and everyone was very relaxed.
It was planned on demand which made it very flexible but static at times.
They let me spend my time learning what I needed to learn, held lunch & learns and doughnut lectures so that I could understand the company and learn around my work but I was not put on any specific training courses.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
I have been recommended for a graduate position. This involves another application, then I may get a job.
The Culture
Every weekend the same student organised an activity but the turnout was poor and he left. There were cinema trips on a Thursday.
Cambridge was slightly cheaper than London.
One or two decent clubs. The people were fine but cliquey.
There was weekly football and every so often we had croquet.
