Indirect Tax SVS Review

Very enjoyable. Exceeded my expectations.

Everyone continually thanked me for doing their work. I was given projects to do that were of real value to the firm and was given really positive feedback.

A lot. Everybody explained the work thoroughly and clearly. I had a buddy who showed me around and made sure I was introduced to everyone and had a good desk.

My final year of university will be spent in the lab and writing a thesis. At Deloitte I have developed my writing style through composing business emails which will no doubt be beneficial when I am writing up my results. Most of the tax knowledge I have gained is irrelevant to my degree.

We were given a comprehensive induction to the scheme. There were two socials organised within 3 weeks where the SVS students could catch up with each other. Everybody in my department knew I was coming and had organised for me to attend some meetings and some projects to get stuck into.

I had a great laugh at the office with my group. Everybody was chatty and helpful, from the lowest grade employees to the partners.

I was given my own laptop and email address and telephone for 3 weeks of work. They spent time inducting us and introducing us to the firm and our departments. A lot is invested in the scheme and they look to hire most of their intake of SVS.

I was given work to do that would otherwise have been done by an employee here. I was able to get a good understanding of what it would be like to work at Deloitte full time.

A reasonable amount.

Very useful. I enjoyed the work I was getting involved with. It was exciting to work with big clients on projects where there was a lot of money at stake.

Very generous salary including holiday pay.

Huge oportunities, I was introduced to a large volume of new people who worked in the firm.

Fantastic. There were a lot of drinks events and organised meals.

It is possible to join sports teams and the gym. They also have community events.
